Cooking apple and pear compote for the winter:

Step 1: Prepare the fruit.

Rinse apples and pears very thoroughly with running water. If you want to make the most useful compote, then you do not need to peel the fruit from the skin, but you need to rinse them properly, helping yourself with a soft brush or sponge. After washing, dry the fruit with disposable paper towels.
Cut apples and pears into slices, simultaneously clearing the kernels with seeds from them, as well as cutting branches and antennae.
Attention: for compote, ripe strong fruits are best suited, without signs of rot or disease, as well as those who did not have time to re-mature.

Step 2: Pour fruit with boiling water.

Put the peeled and sliced pears and apples in a jar (or in jars, as you prefer) in a ratio of 1: 1 (that is, the number of pear slices should be equal to the number of apple slices). Pour fruit slices with boiling water, filling only half the jar, but all pieces of apples and pears should be in the water. Leave it all soaked on 1 hour.

Step 3: Bring apple and pear compote to full readiness.

After 1 hour, drain the water from the cans into the pan, adding a little more water to it, so that next time you have enough to fill the container to the very neck. Sprinkle granulated sugar, add a little citric acid and, stirring all the time, bring the syrup to a boil, making sure that everything added to it dissolves without residue.
Hot, just removed from the stove, sugar syrup pour pears and apples. Fill the jar as a whole, and then immediately close it tightly with the boiled lid, this will ensure the best preservation of your compote.
Turn the cans with blanks upside down and set them to cool on the lids.
After the apple and pear compote has cooled to room temperature, the jar with it can be turned back with the lid up and the workpiece removed in a cool dark place, along with your other pickles and jams.

Step 4: Serve apple and pear compote.

Apple and pear compote is a very healthy and natural drink that perfectly replaces all these purchased pops from the store and the kids like it no less. The pleasant color, aroma and taste of this compote will remind you of the distant sunny summer. The main thing is to hide the jars with the preparation away so that you do not accidentally drink them before the onset of winter, because this fruit drink is so good that you will not notice how it disappears, leaving empty cans behind.
Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- For taste, you can add a sprig of mint or cinnamon to the compote, for example.

- Citric acid can be replaced with fresh lemon or orange.
